So many options — where do you start?
If you’re looking at new blinds for your home, the sheer number of choices can feel overwhelming. Roller, Venetian, Roman, vertical, Perfect Fit, vision — they all do slightly different things, and the right pick depends on your room, your windows, and how you actually live in your home.
We’ve been fitting blinds across Suffolk for over 35 years, so we’ve seen pretty much every combination going. Here’s an honest rundown of the main types and what they’re best suited to.
Venetian blinds
Venetian blinds have horizontal slats that you tilt open or closed — giving you really precise control over light and privacy. They come in wood, faux wood, or aluminium, so there’s a finish to suit most interiors.
We find wooden Venetians work beautifully in living rooms and bedrooms where you want that warm, natural feel. Aluminium ones are better for kitchens and bathrooms because they handle moisture without warping.

Roller blinds
Rollers are probably our most popular product. They’re clean, simple, and available in hundreds of fabrics — from sheer to full blackout. They roll up neatly out of the way when you don’t need them, and they look great in modern homes.
We make rollers in-house at our Eastern Way workshop, so we can cut them to any size. If you need blackout for a bedroom or a wipe-clean fabric for a kitchen, there’s a roller to do the job.

Roman blinds
Romans give you that soft, elegant look — the fabric folds up in neat horizontal pleats when you raise them. They suit living rooms and bedrooms particularly well, adding a bit of warmth and texture that other blinds don’t quite match.
They’re made from cotton, linen, or polyester blends, and you can choose from a huge range of colours and patterns. Just bear in mind that they’re fabric — so they’re not ideal for steamy bathrooms.

Vertical blinds
Verticals get a bit of a bad reputation, but the modern ones are a world away from the tired office blinds people picture. They’re brilliant for large windows and patio doors, where you need something that draws neatly to one side.
We manufacture vertical blinds in-house and can make a single track up to 5 metres wide — which covers most bi-fold and patio doors with a single wand control.

Vision blinds
Vision blinds (sometimes called day-and-night blinds) have alternating bands of sheer and solid fabric. When you adjust them, you can go from filtered daylight to full privacy in seconds. They’ve become really popular in the last few years, and it’s easy to see why — they look fantastic and they’re incredibly practical.

Perfect Fit blinds
Perfect Fit blinds clip straight into your window frame — no drilling, no screws, no fuss. They’re ideal for uPVC windows, tilt-and-turn windows, bi-fold doors, and conservatories. Because they sit within the frame, they move with the window when you open it, and they look really neat and tidy.
They’re also completely cordless, which makes them one of the safest options if you’ve got young children.

How to choose the right blinds for each room
There’s no single “best” blind — it depends on the room:
- Bedrooms — Blackout rollers or Venetians give you the darkness you need for a good night’s sleep
- Living rooms — Romans, vision blinds, or wooden Venetians add warmth and character
- Kitchens and bathrooms — Go for something moisture-resistant: aluminium Venetians, faux wood, or PVC rollers
- Conservatories — Perfect Fit blinds handle the heat and glare without cluttering the frames
- Large windows and doors — Verticals or vision blinds draw across cleanly
Beyond the room, think about how much light you want, how much privacy you need, and what style fits your home. If you’re not sure, that’s what our home survey is for — we bring samples to you so you can see them against your own walls and windows.
Common questions
How do I clean my blinds? It depends on the type. A quick dust or wipe with a damp cloth works for most — we’ll talk you through care when we fit them.
Can damaged blinds be repaired? Often, yes. Give us a ring and we’ll let you know whether a repair or replacement makes more sense.
Are blinds safe for homes with children? Absolutely — as long as you choose the right ones. Cordless and motorised blinds are the safest options, and all the blinds we supply meet current UK child safety regulations.
